Biotech CEO Spotted at Airport Trying to Flee the Country
Yesterday it was reported that the entire executive branch of Matinas BioPharma had vanished from the face of the Earth. The FBI and associated investigators requested the public's assistance in providing tips to help locate their whereabouts.
This morning around 8AM EST, multiple reports were received that the CEO of Matinas was at Newark Airport trying to flee the country with a suitcase full of stock options.
Eyewitnesses claim that the CEO, Jerry “Transformational” Jabour, was frantically trying to purchase a one-way ticket to Yugoslavia (a country which no longer exists) when airport security caught wind of the suspicious activity. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the CEO had stuffed a suitcase full of the company's stock options (strike price $0. 5310) and was attempting to make a clean getaway. When confronted, the CEO threw the suitcase at a guard, causing it to explode in a cloud of paper slips. When the stock options settled, the CEO was nowhere to be found.
The CEO's alleged attempt to flee the country with the company's stock options has sent shockwaves throughout the biotech world, with many speculating about the possible motives behind the risky move. Some have speculated that the CEO had failed to raise non-dilutive cash and didn’t want to be stateside when the company's financial situation plunged off a cliff. Others think that the CEO was simply trying to escape the mounting pressure and scrutiny of running a publicly traded company while exaggerating his success at various conferences.
Despite the speculation, this incident may have caused significant damage to the reputation of Matinas BioPharma. The company has faced a barrage of criticism from both shareholders and boiler room trolls. In the meantime, investors are understandably cautious about investing in the company. Afterall if Jerry is on the run, who is left to send their quarterly tweet?
Many requestions remain unanswered. Where was Jerry really going? What else was in the suitcase? Why hasn’t the company said anything whatsoever since November 3rd?
As the plot thickens, so will the investigation. Stay tuned and thanks for reading. Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter.
