Avengers: Infinity War (2018) Movie Facts for your Entertainment
There I was enjoying nice cup of Keurig pod coffee, when boss and good friend Jet Marlowe called me up on the WhatsApp and said, “Igor. Drop what you’re doing and takeover the articles for today.”
“Why,” I asked. “What did you break?”
“It’s complicated,” he said. “Let’s just say there was a physics experiment, and we rolled a 1 on a d20. Stay away from the lobby unless you’re in a HAZMAT suit. You don’t happen to know an astrobiologist do you?”
I did not.
So then there I was doing research on this movie they call Avengers: Infinity War. As I watched the film, this Thanos person seemed like not a bad guy. Perhaps just misunderstood.
Like ketchup on eggs.
Here are some interesting facts about the movie.
1. Calling the outsiders “space dogs” was a recommendation made by someone in a focus group after a test screening. It was added to the movie because the filmmakers thought it was funny.
2. Tom Holland failed to adhere to a note on the movie poster when he received it in advance to its public release. The note reminded him that the poster had not yet been released. Holland was in the middle of showing the poster on Instagram live before finding the “confidential” notice.
3. When Thanos finds or acquires a stone, he often uses it in the following scene. This is because the film developers wanted to remind viewers of what the stones do with visual representation.
4. Robert Downey Jr. wanted his furniture from home on the set in Atlanta. He made the request and the movie studio complied.
5. Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight are husband and wife, despite lack of confirmation in the film.
6. The movie is comprised of 3,000 shots. 97% of the shots involve special effects.
7. Tom Holland and Chris Pratt enjoyed working on their scenes together, but had some challenges along the way. Pratt tends to joke while on set and Holland was often struggling to maintain his composure.
8. When this movie was released it was the second most expensive Marvel Cinematic Universe movie and the second most expensive movie about superheroes. Avengers: Age of Ultron was more expensive.
9. A fake script was given to Mark Ruffalo who has previously been accused of spoiling movies. He joked that the fake script was more entertaining than the actual script.
10. Tom Holland couldn’t keep his mouth shut about the script for Spider-Man: Homecoming, so he was not allowed to read the script for this film. There was a promotional video done for the movie with several cast members in an interrogation room. Holland was present with his mouth taped shut.
